Hi!

My name is Teodor Jakobsson (but people usually just call me Teo) and I am one of the few exchange students from Sweden studying here at Tokyo Institute of Technology. I come from the University of Linkoping where I study Computer Science and Engineering and this year abroad will be my fifth and final year.

I am here as an YSEP student studying under professor Tokunaga at the Tokunaga Research Group who mainly deal in natural Languages... something I know very little about. :) But it will be fun to learn!

Something about me

I am 25 years old and have spent the last couple of years studying computer science and japanese. I have always liked the language which is probably why I find myself here at the moment. :)

One of my favorite hobbies is Mountain Trekking something I try to do at least once every year (it is kind of time consuming) either in the northern parts of Sweden or somewhere in Norway. To put it short you grab a backpack with one week worth of gear and start walking towards the closest mountain... kind of. :)

me Me and a colleague of my father enjoying the cool mountain air. :)

Usually you walk from early morning to late in the afternoon... over hills, past glaciers and mountain lakes. Most of the times you can walk the entire day without seeing another soul... save for the occasional rain deer or lemming. :)

I wish I could put to words the beauty of the sceneries but it is just one of those thing one has to see in person to understand. The sheer magnitude is literally overwhelming. :)

me Somewhere in Hardangervidda in Norway.

So, next time you see a mountain... grab your gear and just start walking. :)

How to contact me:

I tend to get lost a lot so most of the time I am just wondering aimlessly around in some part of Japan... but if you do happen to spot me don't hesitate to give me a "Yo gaijin!". :) For those other occasions you can use one of the more digital means of contact listed below.
